Taco Seasoning

Who needs packets when you can make your own fabulous taco seasoning with common spices in your pantry? This is wonderful! The recipe below makes about 1 oz which is the equivalent to the single seasoning packets at the store. I will also include a recipe to make it in bulk.

Equivalent to one taco seasoning packet from store:

1 Tb chili powder

1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper

Bulk recipe – use 2 Tb per 1 lb of meat – 2 Tb equals 1 store bought packet

1/4 cup + 1 Tb chili powder
1 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/4 tsp onion powder
1 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 1/4 tsp oregano
2 1/2 tsp paprika (I love smoked paprika, but regular will do)
2 Tb + 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 Tb + 2 tsp salt
1 Tb pepper

Mix & store in airtight container
