Homemade Taco Bell Hot Sauce

We love this stuff poured over any mexican dishes for added flavor. It is so delicious & really does taste like Taco Bell’s packets of sauce. This makes about 2 pints so I keep one in the fridge & one in the freezer.

6 oz can tomato paste
3 cups water
2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 1/2 Tb chili powder
2 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp white vinegar
1 Tb minced dried onion
2 Tb canned jalapeno slices, finely chopped
Combine paste & water in medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth. Add cayenne, chili powder, salt, cornstarch, vinegar & dried onion & stir well. Chop up jalapeno into fine pieces (a mini food processor works well) & stir it in. Heat to a boil & continue to stir about 3 mins, then remove from the heat. Let sauce stand until cool & then put in tightly sealed container (I think mason jars work well) & refrigerate.
