Coconut Tres Leches Hot Chocolate

I can understand why this is a prize tested winner from my Better Homes & Gardens magazine. It is delectable!!! Oh my!!!

3 cups fat-free milk (I used 2 cups 2% milk and 1 cup Coconut Milk Tonic -dairy alternative *recipe below)
1 14 oz can unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 a 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk (2/3 cup)
2 Tb unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
whipped cream (optional)
1/4 cup chcolate shavings (optional)
In medium saucepan combine milk, coconut milk & sweetened condensed milk. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Whisk in cocoa powder until well-combined.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Serve in mugs topped with whipped cream & chocolate shavings. Makes 5 (1 cup) servings.

*Coconut Milk Tonic
1 can whole coconut milk
2 1/4 cup water
2 Tb maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Mix all in a medium saucepan over med-low heat until warm.
You can substitute this in any recipe that calls for milk. Keep in fridge.
