These are my husband’s favorite cookies.
This recipe was given to me at my wedding shower in 1999 along with some baking utensils & accessories. In fact we had a big laugh when I opened that present because I did NOT know what the cookie cooling racks were for!
Anyways, this recipe has proven to be a favorite after all these years. It is a nice change from my regular favotite, chocolate chip cookies. I hope you try them & like ’em. They’re GGGGOOOOODDD!
1 cup white sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 pkg Heath Bit O Brickle Toffee Bits (not chocolate covered ones)
Soften butter, add sugars & beat. Add eggs, then vanilla & beat together. Mix dry ingredients & add to creamed mixture. Make balls of dough about 1 1/2 inches. Pat down & bake on cookie sheet 9-10 minutes at 350.
